Terms of Service

Platform terms

By creating an account or booking on Knoiva, you agree to these terms as a student, parent, or tutor.

Last updated August 17, 2026

Accounts

Keep your login secure. One role is allowed per email. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it. We may suspend accounts that look compromised or that break these terms.

Parents and minors

If you add a child, you confirm you are a parent or legal guardian and that the information you provide is accurate. Learners under 13 must be added by a parent — they may not open a standalone student account. Parents are responsible for the child’s bookings, payments, and how the child uses messages and Zoom. See Privacy for COPPA details.

Bookings, Zoom, and tasks

Session and task prices, service fees, cancellations, and refunds follow what we show at checkout and in your dashboard. Confirmed sessions use a Zoom meeting created by the platform. You agree to join from Knoiva and not to move paid work off-platform. Recordings, when available, expire after a limited period (about 7 days for demos, 30 days for paid sessions).

Payments

Students and parents pay through our checkout (card or PayPal where offered). Tutors receive payouts according to the earnings and payout rules in their dashboard. Do not ask another user to pay outside Knoiva. Chargebacks and refund disputes are reviewed by support; we may share session records needed to resolve them.

Acceptable use

You must follow the Community Guidelines. In particular: do not harass anyone; do not share prohibited contact details to take tutoring off the platform; do not complete graded work in a student’s name; do not upload malware or scrape the site. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Tutor applications

Applying to teach does not guarantee approval. We may reject or later suspend a tutor based on documents, quality, or safety reports. Tutors keep ownership of their original teaching materials; students and parents may use session notes and files for personal learning only, not for resale.

Disclaimers

Knoiva is a marketplace. Tutors are independent providers, not Knoiva employees. We do not guarantee a particular grade, test score, or school admission. Sessions depend on Zoom and your internet connection. To the extent allowed by law, the platform is provided as available, and our liability is limited to fees you paid to us for the booking in dispute.

Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree, stop using the platform and request account closure.
